Superior Moisture Retention and Natural Pest Repelling Properties for Animal Environments & Gardens

  • Extremely Porous

    Industrial hemp grows extremely fast. Rapid growth produces veins throughout the stalk & fiber which enables maximum moisture retention.

    • Hemp hurd absorb 4x its weight in moisture. (Wood absorbs 2x)
    • Hemp fiber absorbs 12 x its weight in moisure.
    • Hemp is composed of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, which are all extremely absorbent natural compounds.
    • Hemp does not contain waxes or tannins, which inhibit moisture absorption.

  • Natural Glues

    The porous veins within hemp stalks are held open by lignin, an antioxidant glue present in many woody plants. Lignin naturally repels pests and absorbs odors.

    • Lignin is a phenolic compound known by farmers to have natural pest eliminating properties.
    • Lignin reacts with ammonia, the gas present in animal waste. This reaction sequesters ammonia gases, which eliminates odors.
    • The porous structure of hemp promotes greater lignin exposure and reaction potential.
    • Users report less flys & pests in their coops and gardens.

About Idaho Organics

In 2022, our founding partner saw a drastic need for more sustainable farming & became the largest hemp grower west of the Rocky Mountains. To enable further cultivation and utilization, Idaho Hemp Processing was formed.

Idaho Organics is the consumer branch of Idaho Hemp Processing, an industrial hemp decortication facility.

Our goal is educate and normalize the utilization of hemp over its competing, less environmentally freindly products, like wood, corn, and soybeans.

We aim to offer superior hemp products to improve the health of your animals and their environment.
